Jesse Howard's journey is defined by two decades of dedicated service and an unwavering commitment to his community.
After a distinguished 20-year career in the military, culminating in his retirement as a first sergeant in October 2024, Jesse has channeled his expertise into civic and educational leadership. His background is a unique blend of military discipline, academic achievement, and grassroots community involvement.
Educated & Experienced
Jesse's leadership is built on a strong foundation of both practical experience and formal education. He earned a bachelor's degree in 2021 and a master of science in leadership in January 2024. This combination of hands-on, real-world experience and academic insight is a cornerstone of his approach to developing effective leaders and thriving teams.
A Champion for Community
Beyond his military and academic pursuits, Jesse is deeply embedded in his community. His diverse civic roles showcase a lifelong commitment to giving back and serving others, including:
Iowa Association of School Boards:
Served as President Elect from 2022-2024. Assumed the role of board President in November of 2024.
Southeastern Community College:
Serves as a trustee, representing over twenty thousand constituents.
New London Community School District
Previously served as a school board member, including roles as Vice President and President.
Burge Cemetery
Serves as Board President, leading board operations and providing fiscal oversight.
